Podcast App
Simplify high-quality podcast production with the PODCAST App. Use the touchscreen's dedicated Sound Pads to trigger sound effects, music beds, and more. Select from 13 built-in high-quality sounds or load your own via an SD card. The Podcast app supports up to 4 microphones and two Sound Pad channels.
Music App
The Music App provides essential controls at your fingertips: audio levels, faders, metering, and more. With 10 inputs and 12 tracks, easily record large ensembles. Mix, overdub, and enhance your recordings with built-in EQ and compression. Connect to Zoom’s Guitar Lab via USB for access to a vast array of amps and effects.
Field App
Ideal for location sound, sound design, conferences, and more, the FIELD App offers instant access to large meters for each track to prevent clipping. Adjust input type, lo-cut, compression, limiter, noise gate, and other key settings.
Modular Mic Capsule System
The H8 includes the Zoom XYH-6 microphone capsule, providing two matched high-quality unidirectional microphones perfect for capturing sound directly in front of the recorder. The Zoom mic capsule system allows for easy swapping of capsules to ensure you have the right microphone for any recording situation.
Next Generation Capsule System 2.0
Zoom’s Capsule System 2.0 allows you to add up to 4 channels of audio to the H8's capsule connection, expanding your recording possibilities.
XAH-8 Combination XY/AB Mic
The XAH-8 capsule delivers pristine stereo recordings. Effortlessly switch between a tight XY pattern and a wide AB pattern to enhance the stereo image of your recordings.
VRH-8 Ambisonic Mic
The VRH-8 is an Ambisonic mic capsule with four condenser microphones for immersive 360 audio recordings. A built-in accelerometer ensures perfect alignment, while the on-board Ambisonic decoder automates conversions for efficient post-production.
EXH-8 Expander Capsule
The EXH-8 capsule adds 4 additional XLR inputs, bringing your total to 10. Each input has a dedicated gain knob and pad switch. Power your favorite condenser microphones by connecting a power source to the EXH-8 capsule for phantom power.
Remote Control Capabilities
Monitor level meters and control recording (REC, PLAY, STOP) in any H8 application mode. Simply insert the optional BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter into your H8 and connect to your iOS device.
Flexible Inputs & Outputs
The H8 features 4 XLR inputs with dedicated pad switches and gain control. Two additional XLR/TRS combo jacks with Hi-Z switches allow you to capture line level signals, microphones, or directly record electric guitars and basses. Monitor tracks using the built-in 1/8” headphone output or connect directly to your camera using the dedicated stereo line output.
